Few months ago, I noticed some of my friends are frequently visiting coffee shops and collecting stickers every time they order frappes and the like. At first I was just thinking that they’re only building up loyalty points to get discounts coupons. Lately I found out that they are filling up forms with corresponding number of stickers for the coffee shop’s signature 2013 planner.

The planner is nice and aside from its purpose of allowing its owner to plan, it also signifies that the owner has had ingested a lot of frappes and coffee in order to obtain it.

If you’re going to calculate its cost based on the number of drinks you bought, the planner’s worth is almost P2000 ($50). It’s a bit pricy and since I’m stingy and in a very tight budget, I didn’t bother to avail one but if someone would give it to me as a gift, I am more than willing to accept it =p.

As I walk along the snack section of a certain mall, I passed by a doughnut store and noticed their colorful ad. They are also selling planners! It was like a reminder popping in front of me that I should get a planner before the year ends. It may not be through drinking expensive frappes but maybe through buying some pieces of affordable doughnuts. When I asked for its price, the cashier told me that in order to avail the planner, I should at least buy 6 pieces of doughnuts and will just add P100 ($2.5). Now that is so cheap! With no second thoughts, I bought the planner and happily headed home. For the first time, I enjoyed munching the sweet doughnuts knowing that I was able to have a colorful planner because of them.
