The entire day I was roaming around the city for some important transactions when my hungry self suddenly craves for something different. I’m a certified foodie and gets curious every time a new ‘chow’ arrives in town.
In the past few days, I’ve been avoiding rice meals and has been looking for alternatives for my carb cravings.
Good thing a friend of mine who happened to be a pastry chef decided to let the public taste some of his wafel (Belgian spelling of waffle) creations by opening Fatkids Wafels and Frappe.
Having waffles in exchange of rice is just so perfect!
If you’re thinking of the usual waffle and syrup tandem, think again because that’s too basic.
What they have in Fatkids are those waffles with a twist.
My addiction to middle eastern cuisine made me decide to try their Biryani Wafel and I simply made the right choice. The waffle’s bland taste is sumptuous and non greasy making it perfect to any toppings whether savory or sweet.
Since I chose to have the savory one, my friend decided to have the Chocolate Overload from the “Sweet” versions. She’s definitely a critic when it comes to food and could even recognize the food’s ingredients by simply tasting it.
“It’s overload indeed!”, she said with conviction. I might as well try it on my next visit because her statement is equivalent to a several thumbs up.
Eating waffle alone seemed to be incomplete without having their frappe. At first I was hesitant because I’m a hot-beverage-drinking person and would rather sip some steaming brewed coffee along with any pastry. However, Chef Alan convinced me to give their Capuccino a try.
As to my astonishment, I consumed everything and even wanted to have other one. The bittersweet blend is just perfect for my taste. My friend had the Cookies and Cream and again, she gave her nods to it.
Price-wise, they’re too cheap for such a delightful taste thus making it affordable for everyone especially for the students.
Fatkids Wafels and Frappe can be found at the ground floor of Abreeza Mall adjacent to their Concierge desk and Jollibee.
More and more people are starting to like their food and count me for that. For evidences, you may check their official Facebook page and don’t forget to like it.
